Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin - Waiting on Wednesday

I was actually at a loss as to what book I was going to feature this week, so I put a call out to my wonderful Twitter followers for suggestions. This book is now going on my TBR list, along with the first one in the series.

Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin
Ashfall, #2
Expected publication: October 16, 2012
by Tanglewood Press

It’s been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. Alex and Darla have been staying with Alex’s relatives, trying to cope with the new reality of the primitive world so vividly portrayed in Ashfall, the first book in this series. It’s also been six months of waiting for Alex’s parents to return from Iowa. Alex and Darla decide they can wait no longer and must retrace their journey into Iowa to find and bring back Alex’s parents to the tenuous safety of Illinois. But the landscape they cross is even more perilous than before, with life-and-death battles for food and power between the remaining communities. When the unthinkable happens, Alex must find new reserves of strength and determination to survive.

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

  1. The first book was really good and this one is too so far. There's a lot of research but the books don't read like it, he works the information in easily. I stayed up past 3 AM reading the first book.

I hope you enjoy the books!
