Girl with Guitar (Kylie Ryans #1)
by Caisey Quinn
Published: May 22, 2013
After Kylie’s dad dies
in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy
step-mother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks
Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to
Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true.
Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes
when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum
album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with
Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his
career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him.
My short and sweet review:
Caisey Quinn burns it up in her debut. Kylie Ryans is a sassy spitfire that is not afraid to say what she thinks. In this first book of the series, we see Kylie beginning to pursue her dreams, but along the way, she falls fast and hard for Trace. I must admit there were a few times I would have liked to tell Kylie to pull it together, but that is because Caisey Quinn has given us a character we can't help but connect with. Kylie feels like a friend, and you can't help but want her to succeed. You will want to read the next books to follow Kylie's story.
You may like this book if you like contemporary romance, especially ones with hot country music stars.
You may not like this book if you are not fond of romance, prefer "clean" romance, or don't like "insta-love."
A copy was provided by the author for an honest review.
